Typical requirements — every channel publishes its own spec, so always check it (or upload it to CompressLab). Interlaced formats are delivered progressive here (e.g. 1080i25 → 1080p25), because browsers only encode progressive video.

What a browser cannot do
MXF, ProRes, XDCAM/MPEG-2, DNxHD, 10-bit or 4:2:2 video, interlacing, timecode, bars & tone and slates need an editor such as DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro or FFmpeg. CompressLab lists these when it reads a spec.
Questions
Can a browser make MXF or ProRes files?
No. Browsers can encode H.264, HEVC, VP9 and AV1 into MP4/MOV. Many channels also accept MOV or MP4 for ads — check your channel’s spec.
My channel wants interlaced 1080i. What now?
Browsers only produce progressive video, so you get 1080p25 or 1080p29.97. Ask the channel whether progressive is accepted, or use an editor for interlacing.
What does the spec reader do?
Upload the channel’s requirements as PDF, DOCX, text or a screenshot. CompressLab extracts resolution, frame rate, codec, bitrate, audio and loudness, applies them, and lists anything it cannot do or could not find.
