Compress a video to upload it to Microsoft Forms

In Microsoft Forms the owner picks the maximum size for each upload question: 10 MB, 100 MB or 1 GB. Bigger files are rejected — fit your video under the limit.

Your files stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

Find the limit

The upload question shows the allowed size and number of files (up to 10). The slider starts just under 10 MB, the most common choice — move it to 95 for a 100 MB question or 980 for 1 GB.

What fits

Why the form asks you to sign in

Uploaded files go to the form owner’s OneDrive or SharePoint, so upload questions only work for people signed in to the same organization. That is Microsoft’s rule, not the compressor’s — compression needs no account.
