X video requirements
- Length: 0.5 s to 2:20 (140 s) without Premium
- Size: up to 512 MB
- Format: MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio; up to 60 frames per second
- Recommended: 1280×720 or 1920×1080 landscape, 720×1280 portrait
Why X rejects some videos
“Your media file could not be processed” usually means an unusual codec (HEVC from an iPhone, VP9 from a screen recorder), a variable frame rate or a resolution above 1920 on the long side. Re-encoding with this preset fixes all three.
Questions
How long can a video on X be?
2 minutes 20 seconds for regular accounts. Premium accounts can post much longer videos.
Can I post a longer video in parts?
Yes — this preset splits it into 2:20 pieces you can post as a thread.
