A Clideo alternative without upload, watermark or 500 MB limit
Clideo is a polished set of online video tools. On the free plan it accepts files up to 500 MB and adds a small Clideo logo to exports, and every file is uploaded to its servers first. CompressLab does the compression on your own device instead.

When Clideo is the better choice
- You need a full online editor — merging, music, text, resizing for social media in one place.
- Your device is very old or slow: Clideo’s servers do the work, so the phone only uploads and downloads.
When CompressLab is the better choice
- Your video is over 500 MB — phone 4K clips get there in a few minutes of recording.
- You don’t want a logo on the result, or you can’t upload the video (work recordings, personal videos, slow internet).
- You have many videos: add a whole folder and they are compressed one after another.
- You need an exact size, such as 10 MB for Discord or 18 MB so an email attachment fits Gmail.
What CompressLab can’t do
- Speed depends on your device: a recent laptop compresses an hour of 1080p in minutes, an old phone is much slower.
- It needs a modern browser — Chrome, Edge or Opera, Safari 16.4+ or Firefox on a computer. Firefox on Android can’t encode video yet.
- It is a set of focused tools (compress, trim, subtitles, TV), not a full editor with text, music and transitions.
Try it
Drop a video on the compressor, pick what it is for — Discord, email, WhatsApp, “free up space” — or set your own size, and press Compress. No account, no upload, no watermark.
